New appointment targets growth for Hawke’s Bay’s ABC Software.

Chris Shakeshaft’s recent appointment is deliberate move to grow the ABC brand and reputation as information solution providers

, seeking to make people’s data work for them.

The company, driven by directors Sharon Chapman and Julie Gillies, has a proven track record in delivering solutions that positively impact on the way a business operates and Chris is looking forward using his networks and knowledge to build on the work of ABC team.

‘I am really excited to part of a business with such a reputable team. I know I will learn a lot from Sharon and Julie but also bring skills to the company that will add value and see growth in Hawke’s Bay, New Zealand and Australia.’

Chris cut his teeth in the technology sector with Gen-i in Hawke’s Bay , where his success saw him appointed in managerial and leadership roles. There he gained sector knowledge spanning almost every area of the economy.

From the reporting and compliance requirements of the government and its agencies, through to the highly regulated health sector and internationally focused needs of New Zealand’s rural companies, he gained experience with true understanding to deliver powerful and proven Information Communication Technology (ICT) solutions.

He left Gen-i after 12 years to work for Fastway Post New Zealand  to explore using his experience in another sector and said the move to ABC Software 3 years later was a return to where his passion lies.

‘This role for me is about technology innovation with a focus on targeting new business and tapping into new markets by helping businesses to improve their systems, resulting in improved data flow and decision-making.’

Providing good tools to businesses to enable them operate seamlessly is an essential element of this role, he says.
