Meet the Team
Hawke's Bay born and bred, Sharon has been in IT since 1983. A keen traveller, she lived and worked overseas for 10 years before returning home 24 years ago and starting ABC. Understanding a client’s business and designing solutions that deliver on their needs is what Sharon does best. Now leading sales, Sharon is on the road in New Zealand and Australia and is always happy to swing by for a chat.
Julie’s IT career began in 1982. She has significant experience across a range of industries in Zimbabwe, the UK and New Zealand. Julie lives and breathes the discipline of good software design and development, and is passionate about ensuring ABC consistently delivers quality solutions that exceed their clients’ expectations. Julie loves holidaying, be it exploring faraway places or relaxing in Mahia.
Starting as a COBOL programmer in 1987 Mike has enjoyed an IT career in Hawke’s Bay, joining ABC in 2005. He brings to the table over 30 years of software development experience across several industries. A bit of a cricket nut; if Mike’s not playing cricket, he’s probably watching it.
Armed with a degree in Information Engineering, Bevan has been in IT since 1996. As senior systems architect his superpower is making our software talk to your devices. Bevan is relentless in his pursuit of making the world a better place for businesses in need of software. And in his pursuit of the ever elusive trout.
Brendan came to ABC as an intern on completing his degree in Computer Systems. He has knowledge in all aspects of IT with a focus on web and iOS development. Brendan enjoys spending time with his young family and loves fishing - when he gets the chance.
Local lad Aidan also joined ABC via the EIT internship programme. With a Bachelor of Computing Systems under his belt, Aidan has risen to ABCgrower guru. Aidan is kept busy with his young family but still finds the time for a round or two of golf.
Nicole relocated to Hawke’s Bay after the Christchurch earthquakes where she completed her Bachelor of Computing Systems. Nicole is a lead developer for ABCpacker. Despite a fear of heights Nicole recently helicoptered to a Queenstown mountaintop to get married.
Joining the real world after completing a degree in Psychology, Brenna has worked in a variety of industries. What gets her up in the morning (other than a very strong coffee) is the real reward in taking our clients on the journey of learning ABCpacker and supporting them in their implementation.
Another star that came to ABC via EIT’s internship programme, Travis is now based in his native South Africa. He’s often working while we sleep, perfect for out-of-hours software releases. Travis is thrilled to now be married after Covid-related border closures kept his fiancée half a world away.
Having been in IT for many years with roles from deep techie to trainer, Wendy has been exposed to many industries, business operating models and company cultures. She is passionate about delivering great solutions. Wendy’s hobbies range from weaving and ballet to car rallies and motorcycling.
With a career spanning several industries and locations, Alison landed in software and the sunny Hawke’s Bay in 2015. She enjoys working with clients to map their needs with the functionality in ABCgrower. On weekends Alison can often be found on the side of a sports field supporting her children.
With a background in the tech side of rural services and an all-round nice guy, Paul is perfectly positioned to get our new clients up and running with ABC. A man of many talents, Paul is proficient in Mandarin and is a crowned chili eating champion!
Stella is a dedicated employee who enjoys remuneration in back scratches and sausage roll crumbs. She is adept at meeting and greeting staff and visitors. Out of the office she loves anything so long as she is at Bevan’s side. Stella is the goodest girl.
She has gathered a diverse bunch of skilled individuals, all passionate about delivering superior solutions.
If you think you have what it takes to work at ABC, we want to hear from you.
